Botox: 15 Things You Didn’t Know (Part 1)

Botox has become one of the most popular procedures for people to get to look younger in a matter of minutes. Even if you’ve had Botox done yourself, how much do you really know about it? With that in mind, here we present our list of 15 things you probably didn’t know about Botox. Check out part one below, and stay tuned for part two, coming soon!

Number Fifteen: It Won’t Freeze Your Face. Despite the widely perpetuated myth that getting Botox will make you unable to express emotions, it actually relaxes your muscles, not freezes them. Getting Botox will relax the muscles you use to smile, frown, and emote, making them appear smoother but not making them disappear altogether.

Number Fourteen: It Focuses on Minimalism. It’s pretty obvious to identify someone who’s gotten a bunch of Botox. Because women generally want to hide the fact that they’ve had work done, only a minimal amount of the drug is used. This is so people who get the procedure notice a difference without feeling like they’re a different person.

Number Thirteen: You Shouldn’t Do it Yourself. Though it might be tempting to get your own Botox kit, you probably shouldn’t. Injecting it into your face is more of an art than a science, and it takes a very skilled set of hands to properly do it.

Number Twelve: You Can Use it All Over Your Face. Though Botox is most commonly associated with the eye and forehead area, it can actually be used on your whole face! Many people are using it on their lower face to make them look younger.

Number Eleven: There’s Not an “Ideal Age” to Start Using It. However, the average age of clients who get the procedure is 33 years old. It’s now becoming more and more popular for people in their 20’s to get the procedure done as well.

Number Ten: You Can Use it on Your Neck. It’s not just for your face! People have begun using the drug on their neck to remove unsightly lines and wrinkles.

Number Nine: It Can Physically Make You Happier. And maybe not for the reasons you think. Because Botox makes it more difficult to frown, some people have found that they become happier after the procedure since they can’t physically frown as often.
