Number Eight: It Comes in Several Different Forms. You might think that there’s only one kind of Botox, but that’s where you’d be wrong. One form of the substance comes in a dehydrated powder that has to be reconstituted. Depending on the different ways clinics reconstitute it, you could be getting a more diluted form in one clinic and a less diluted form in another.
Number Seven: The Needles Might Be Going Away. If you’ve been dying to get the procedure done but are too terrified of needles to go through with it, you’re in luck! There are currently trials going on for a topical from of Botox that may be hitting the markets soon in gel-form.
Number Six: It’s Hard to Predict the Cost. Botox is offered by many different kinds of spas and clinics, so the price of the procedure understandably varies from place to place. The average consumer spends around $650 on a procedure that lasts for about four months.
Number Five: It’s Not That Painful. While the procedure can appear quite painful since it involves injecting needles into your face, it’s actually not so bad. Most people say that getting Botox is less painful than having their blood drawn!
Number Four: It Won’t Cause Unsightly Bruising Afterward. You may have seen pictures of intense bruises and bleeding after the procedure, but just be aware that that rarely happens. If Botox is properly performed, then you’ll look completely normal and can go out in public without anyone knowing you’ve just had the procedure done.
Number Three: You Shouldn’t Get it as a Preventative Measure. Many people in their 20’s decide to get the procedure done to “prevent” wrinkles from appearing too soon. However, getting it done earlier won’t prevent you from developing wrinkles at a normal time.
Number Two: You Can Pay Per Unit or Per Area. There are two ways to pay for the procedure, so if you’re thinking about going it, consider this. Some places charge for an entire area – for example, a forehead might cost $300, and the area around the eyes might be $350. However, some other places charge for units used – a single unit costs about $15.
Number One: It’s Not a Last Resort. There are so many anti-aging creams, gels, and serums out there that Botox might seem like an extreme option. However, the truth is that it’s becoming as non-invasive as those lotions, so if you have the money and you really want to do it, you should go ahead and take the plunge.
