Brand New released “Mene” back in April, becoming the band’s first studio recording since 2009. Now the band has revealed that they plan on dropping a new project some time this year. The untitled album is not complete, but band member Jesse Lacey is hopeful the album will be completed before the year ends. “We don’t know whether it will be an EP of seven songs or so, or the traditional LP of 14 songs. We have many songs that we have been working on,” Lacey told RockZone.
Brand New has dropped four studio albums including Your Favorite Weapon, Deja Entendu, The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me, and Daisy. The band’s latest project, Daisy, was released six years ago. It reached Number 6 on the Billboard 200 and Number 47 on UK Albums Chart. One song was released from the project including “At the Bottom,” which reached Number 14 on the UK Rock Chart. Brand New’s debut project, Your Favorite Weapon, was released in 2001. The 12-track album features the songs “Sudden Death in Carolina,” “The No Seatbelt Song,” “Failure by Design,” and the single “Jude Law and a Semester Abroad.”
