Brooke Shields: 15 Things You Didn’t Know (Part 1)

Brooke Shields (born May 31, 1965) is an actress from the United States. In addition to acting, she has also been a model, beginning at a very young age and continuing on in her career for many, many years. She has become a well-known name. Here are some facts you didn’t know about the star.

Number Fifteen: Her Dog ‘Went to Pull Sleds’

She had a Siberian Husky as a pet when she was a child. When the dog died, her mother told her that the beloved pet had gone off to Alaska to pull sleds.

Number Fourteen: Brook Shields Fell Down Some Stairs On Set

You may have seen her in the film, Army Wives. She was working on a scene where she was supposed to have been flying a C-17 airplane. On her first day filming, she fell down the stairs of the plane.

Number Thirteen: Higher Education

Brooke is not only a former child star, model, and actress, she’s got brains as well. She graduated (with honors) from Princeton University. She studied French literature there.

Number Twelve: The Blue Lagoon Controversy

Possibly her most famous role, she starred in The Blue Lagoon as a young teen. In America, it’s illegal for people under the age of 18 to act in “adult scenes”. Shields had to testify in a court of law that (adult) body doubles were used throughout the shooting of the movie.

Number Eleven: She Married a Pro Tennis Player

Ms. Shields and Andre got married in April of 1997. It only lasted a couple of short years though, because Brooke allegedly wanted to remarry in the Catholic church.

Number Ten: Brooke Shields, the Youngest Vogue Model

Only 14 years old at the time, she appeared on the cover of this famous magazine in 1980. Quite an impressive feat for someone so young.

Number Nine: Commercial Controversy
