Check out eight more fascinating facts about the rapper and musician that you definitely (probably) did not know below. You might be surprised by what you find out!
Number Eight: He Has Been Nominated for Many Awards but Has Not Won Many. Busta is sort of like the Susan Lucci of rap music. Though he has been nominated for 16 MTV Video Music Awards, he has never won one. He has also been nominated for 11 Grammy Awards but has never won.
Number Seven: He Wanted to Be Part of A Tribe Called Quest. Though Busta was a member of Leaders of the New School, at the time their relationship was quite tumultuous. He admitted that he would much rather have been in A Tribe Called Quest.
Number Six: He Was Chided by Sean Connery. Busta was part of the film Finding Forrester, which stars Sean Connery. Connery is notorious for being punctual, and one day Busta was two minutes late to the set. Connery, who was also a producer of the film, yelled at Busta because of it.
Number Five: He Has Four Children. His kids’ names are T’Ziah, T’khi, Trillian, and Mariah. They were born in 1993, 1999, 2001, and 1998, respectively.
Number Four: He Is a Muslim. Busta is a Muslim, and he has said that his faith is what helps keep him grounded.
Number Three: He Has a Criminal Record. In 2006, Busta was arrested after he assaulted a man who allegedly spit on his car. The incident occurred after the AmsterJam Music Festival located on Randall’s Island in New York.
Number Two: He Went to High School in Good Company. Busta attended high school at George Westinghouse Career and Technical Education High School alongside DMX, Biggie Smalls and Jay Z. He even had a rap battle with Jay Z while the two were in school together!
Number One: He Is Still Going Strong. Busta has had a long career, and he has shown no signs of stopping anytime soon. In fact, he is slated to release another album in 2016!
