We already brought you part one of this list of interesting facts about the celebrity Cate Blanchett. The Australian actress has starred in countless films (and continues to do so) and has created a very well known name for herself. Here is part two of our list.

Number Eight: Cate Blanchett Left School to Travel

Originally, she studied at the University of Melbourne, focusing on economic classes as well as fine arts. About one year into this, however, she left school so that she could travel overseas.

Number Seven: From Australia to England and Back to Australia Again

Born in the land down under, this star moved to Brighton in the UK with her husband. They lived there for almost 10 years before moving back to their native land, Australia back in 2006.

Number Six: She Is a Film Ambassador

Blanchett is a patron of the Australian Film Institute and its academy, the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television arts. She has grown to have quite an important role for these institutions.

Number Five: The Face of Skin Care

The star became a spokesperson for a luxury skin care line owned by Procter and Gamble. This happened back in 2005. She has also agreed to be the fact representing this brand.

Number Four: Blanchett Cares About the Environment

In 2007, the actress became the ambassador for an environmental conservation movement. The online campaign tries to persuade Australians to get involved in and express concern about climate change, an issue Cate cares a lot about.

Number Three: She’s a Wax Figure

In 2005, Cate wore a Valentino dress to an Academy Awards ceremony. Ten years later, a wax figure of her was created wearing that same dress.

Number Two: She’s Been Named One of the World’s Sexiest People

Blanchett was ranked 31st in a survey for the 100 sexiest celebrities in Hollywood. Also, in 1999, she was chosen to be part of the People’s magazine’s list of the 50 Most Beautiful People.

Number One: She Played Queen Elizabeth Twice
