Check out eight more fascinating facts about the singer and musician that you definitely (probably) did not know below. You might be surprised by what you find out!
Number Eight: He Collaborated With Santana. Santana’s 1999 LP, Supernatural, is one of the most wildly popular albums of all time. Green was part of the album, and he was part of the song “Do You Like the Way,” along with Lauryn Hill.
Number Seven: He Almost Joined Outkast. Green is reportedly friends with Andre 3000 and Big Boi, and he has known them for a long time. In an interview, Big Boi admitted that Green almost joined the group. However, he only sang on two songs for their debut album, and he didn’t actually join the group.
Number Six: He Has an Interesting Connection to Frankie Muniz. In fact, Muniz was his landlord! Green rented Muniz’s home in 2011, for the low, low price of $10,000 a month. Sure. He only lived there for a few months, but still – that means Muniz was his landlord.
Number Five: He Has Won Five Grammy Awards. Green has Grammys for “Crazy,” St. Elsewhere, “Forget You,” and two for “Fool for You.” Clearly, the man has talent.
Number Four: He Had a Religious Childhood. Green was raised by two ordained ministers. This is how he got his start in music – in the church. He also attended an all-boys boarding school. However, his father died when he was just two years old, and his mother died when he was 18 years old, so his parents haven’t exactly been around for his entire life.
Number Three: He Was the Youngest Member of the Goodie Mob. Green was an original member of the Goodie Mob, along with Big Gipp, T-Mo, and Khujo. He was also the youngest of the four.
Number Two: He Collaborated With TLC. You know the TLC song, “Waterfalls”? Well, Green did backing vocals on it. Mind. Blown.
Number One: He Is a Self-Described Maniac. Green has described himself as a “goon,” in addition to a “kleptomaniac, pyromaniac, just plain maniac” – especially in his youth. Well, it looks like that qualities worked out for him, especially when you consider his success!
