CeeLo Green Working On New Album ‘Heart Blanche’

CeeLo Green‘s career took a big hit back in 2012, after the singer made some very controversial remarks regarding rape allegations that were made against him. The comments put Green’s career in jeopardy, and the half-hearted apology that followed his remarks proved to be even more damaging. Green would eventually give a sincere apology for his remarks, and instead of trying to salvage his career, the singer instead went on a music hiatus. Green attempted to rejuvenate his career by starring in a reality television show in 2014, but The Good Life didn’t fair well with the viewing audience. After just one season, TBS canceled the series.

In January of this year, he quietly dropped a 9-track project entitled TV on the Radio, but the album completely went unnoticed. With a new outlook on life, Green has decided to release a new project this year entitled Heart Blanche. “We’re actually in the final stages of completing his album. He’s really been hard at work. We’ve got a big, big list of songs that we’ve been going through, and we’re kind of mixing the final songs now,” Atlantic Records’ Craig Kallman told Billboard magazine. Kallman added,”We’re going to be imminently figuring out his marketing plan and single release schedule, and we’re looking at the fourth quarter [for the album release].”

The Heart Blanche project will feature production from Mark Ronson, Eg White (Sam Smith and Adele), John Hill (Florence and the Machine and Eminem), and Wallpaper (Jason Derulo). “It’s arguably the best piece of work he’s ever done. It’s very rare to find artists these days that focus on an album as a body of work. Most albums these days are just collections of songs, but that’s not the case here,” CeeLo’s manager, Larry Mestel, told Billboard.

CeeLo Green has dropped four studio albums including Cee-Lo Green and His Perfect Imperfections, Cee-Lo Green…Is the Soul Machine, The Lady Killer, and Cee Lo’s Magic Moment. As one half of the duo Gnarls Barkley (with Danger Mouse), the singer released two albums entitled St. Elsewhereand The Odd Couple. Regardless of the pitfalls in his career, one thing is certain, CeeLo Green knows how to write a hit song. Some of his biggest hits includes “F**k You,” “Crazy,” “Closet Freak,” and “It’s OK.”
