The city of Chicago is hosting its first major country music festival. Florida Georgia Line, Brad Paisley, and Dierks Bentley will headline Windy City LakeShake from June 19th through June 21st. Windy City LakeShake will launch from Live Nation‘s Country division. LakeShake is one of the three new music festivals Live Nation will debut in 2015. Brian O’Connell, Live Nation’s Country president and Chicago native, plans to launch ten country festivals in ten years. Country music festivals FarmBorough will launch in New York this year, and Delaware Junction will also launch in 2015. Windy City LakeShake will have two stages, including the “Next From Nashville” stage. The stage will feature upcoming country music artists. Some of the other acts on the artist lineup include Easton Corbin, Frankie Ballard, Mickey Guyton, Clare Dunn, and Randy Houser. Three-day passes will start at $199.50, and tickets will go on sale February 2nd on the LakeShake Festival website.
Florida Georgia Line’s first studio album entitled Here’s to the Good Times was released in 2012. The album’s lead single “Cruise” topped the Country AirPlay chart eleven days after Here’s to the Good Times was released. The “Cruise” remixed version featured hip-hop recording artist Nelly. The song peaked at Number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100. The remixed version went straight to Number 1 on the Hot Country Songs chart, and it stayed at number one for twenty-four weeks. The “Cruise (Remix)” was ranked as Billboard’s Number 1 single of 2013. The duo’s latest project, Anything Goes, was released last year. The album successfully peaked at Number 1 on Billboard’s 200 chart. To date, two singles have been produced from the album including “Dirt” and “Sun Daze.”
Brad Paisley has released ten studio albums, and all of his releases have all sold over 500,000 copies worldwide. Last year, Moonshine in the Trunk became his eighth album to reach the Number 1 position. The project released three singles including “River Bank,” “Perfect Storm,” and “Crushin’ It.” The country singer has had thirty-two singles reach the Top Ten, and eighteen of those singles soared to Number 1 on the Billboard charts. Paisley has sold over twelve million albums, and he has won three Grammy Awards.
Dierks Bentley’s self-titled debut sold over one million copies in 2003. Two years later, the country star released his second album, Modern Day Drifter. Just like his debut album, Modern Day Drifter also went platinum. Bentley has had eighteen singles make it to the country music charts, and twelve of those songs reached the Number 1 position. Some of his biggest hits include “Settle for a Slowdown,” “Every Mile a Memory,” “I Hold On,” and “Drunk on a Plane.”
