Number Eight: She Got a Record Deal Thanks to Disney. Aguilera performed the song “Reflection” for Disney’s animated film Mulan. The song was such a big hit that it earned Aguilera her very first record deal with RCA. She went on to release her self-titled album in 1999.
Number Seven: She Was Turned Down by Charlie XCX. Though many people vie to collaborate with Aguilera, she was actually turned down by Charlie XCX for a collaboration opportunity. Charlie XCX said that Aguilera is cool, but it wasn’t the right fit.
Number Six: She Is Incredibly Charitable. In fact, when Aguilera got married in 2005, she donated all of her wedding gifts to American charities that were supporting the victims of Hurrican Katrina. In fact, she later got divorced, so perhaps that was the best thing to come of her marriage!
Number Five: She Has Four Grammy Awards. Aguilera has won an impressive four Grammy Awards. She got her first in 2000 for Best New Artist, her second in 2001 for “Lady Marmalade,” her third in 2003 for “Beautiful,” and her fourth in 2007 for “Ain’t No Other Man.”
Number Four: She Won Her First Talent Show When She Was Eight. When Aguilera was just eight years old, she won her very first talent show. She performed Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me).”
Number Three: She Is Greatly Influenced by Etta James. Aguilera is said that James is incredibly important to her life. She said, “Etta is my all-time favorite singer. I’ve said it for the last seven years – since I had my first debut record out – in every interview.” Aguilera is also influenced by Aretha Franklin, Otis Redding and Billie Holiday.
Number Two: She Likes Fashion. Aguilera is talented in both the music and fashion industries. She has been spotted wearing designers like Marc Jacobs, Roberto Cavalli, Alexander McQueen and John Galliano.
Number One: She Has an Incredible Vocal Range. Aguilera is a soprano, and her vocal range has been compared to those of Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston. Her range is one of the biggest of any female artist currently in the industry.
