You’ve probably heard a litany of things about Chuck Norris – about his strength, mental prowess, and overall cool factor. Many things have been said about Norris, but not all of them are true. Despite the fact that Chuck Norris has spent a considerable amount of time in the spotlight and under the scrutiny of the public eye, there are still some things that many people don’t know. With that in mind, here we present our list of 15 things you probably didn’t know about Chuck Norris. Check out part one below, and stay tuned for part two, coming soon!
Number Fifteen: He Has Not Lost a Fight Since 1968. Norris has 10 career losses; however, they all came quite early in his career. His career ended with a record of 168-10-2, and he won every fight since 1968.
Number Fourteen: He Invented His Own Martial Art. It’s true! Norris created Chun Kuk Do, which translates to “Universal Way.” He created the new martial art because he wanted to try something new.
Number Thirteen: He Taught Karate to Steve McQueen. Norris helped McQueen up his martial arts game, and in return McQueen helped Norris learn how to act. Both McQueen and Norris were also friends with Bruce Lee and were even pallbearers at Lee’s funeral when he died.
Number Twelve: His Silence Is Not Golden. One part of Chun Kuk Do (see the martial art that he created, which we mentioned above) involves the mantra, “If I have nothing good to say about a person, I will say nothing.” Because of this, Norris’ silence may indicate he thinks very poorly of someone.
Number Eleven: He Was a World of Warcraft Spokesman. Norris did a television commercial for World of Warcraft, in which he is compared to a hunter and says that he approves the game at the end. We’re sure it did wonders for their sales.
Number Ten: He Was the First Westerner to Be Honored With the 8th-Degree Black Belt Grand Master in Taekwondo. It might be a mouthful, but it’s worth reading twice. Norris is, in fact, the only Westerner to ever hold the rank of an 8th-degree black belt grand master in Taekwondo. Norris has black belts in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Tang Soo Do, and Judo as well.
Number Nine: He Was an Air Policeman. Norris belong to the U.S. Air Force, and while where, he was an air policeman stationed in South Korea. It was there that he began his studies in martial arts.
