We already brought you part one of our list of 15 things you probably did not know about Courtney Love, and now we’re back with part two! Check out eight more fascinating facts about the singer and former wife of Kurt Cobain that you definitely (probably) did not know below. You might be surprised by what you find out!
Number Eight: She Was the Face of E-Cigarettes for Awhile. Love was the spokesperson for e-cigarette company NJOY for some time. You can find her featured in an advertisement for the company on YouTube.
Number Seven: She Did Heroin With Charlie Sheen. Love revealed that the very first time she ever tried heroin was at the house of Charlie Sheen. But does that really come as a surprise?
Number Six: She Saved Chris Rock. Love saved Chris Rock from a fight after the Academy Awards in 2005. Rock hosted the awards ceremony, and he said some things to upset Jude Law and Guy Ritchie. Law and Ritchie came after him at an after-party, but Love, who was hanging out with Rock at the time, began “growling” and she scared them off.
Number Five: She Really Wanted “Beautiful.” You know that Christina Aguilera song, “Beautiful”? Well, Love wanted the song so badly that she begged songwriter Linda Perry for it. However, Perry told her, “You’re not ready for Top 40. You’ll hate this song because you didn’t write it.” The song went on to become one of Aguilera’s biggest hits.
Number Four: She Ran Her Own Fashion Blog. In 2010, Love made a blog called What Courtney Wore Today. Unsurprisingly, the blog detailed what Love wore every day.
Number Three: She Has Some Unexpected Friends. You might be surprised to learn that Love is good friends with the clean-cut Gwenyth Paltrow. The two may seem like opposites, but perhaps the old adage applies here – opposites attract!
Number Two: She Might Be Related to Marlon Brando. Love’s mother was adopted, and it was later discovered that her mother is the biological daughter of novelist Paula Fox. Though Love’s maternal grandfather is officially unidentified, it is rumored to be Marlon Brando.
Number One: She Is Autistic. Love’s creative prowess was recognized from a very young age, but academically, she underperformed. When Love was nine years old, she was diagnosed with mild autism, which may explain her creativity and disinclination to traditional education.
