After years of fighting a battle with high blood sugar, Tom Hanks tells the world that he has officially been discovered to have Type 2 diabetes. But he’s by no means the only famous name to have struggled with the disease. Here are some other celebrities who also have it.

Number Ten: Halle Berry has Diabetes

Halle Berry collapsed unexpectedly and went into a coma for an entire week in 1989. This signaled to the actress that something was seriously wrong. She found out later that she has diabetes.

Number Nine: Drew Carey

Comic and show host Drew Carey is another famous person who claims to have cured his disease. He says it happened after losing about 80 pounds in about half a year with a low carb diet and lots of fitness activity.

Not too long after Lucas graduated from university, tests showed that the filmmaker had diabetes. This made him exempt from the Vietnam War draft and he made films instead, lucky for us!
