Singer, songwriter and actress Diana Ross is one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century. However, despite the years she spent as a musician in the public eye, there are still some things that many people don’t know about her. Number Fifteen: She Was Arrested. In 1999, Ross was arrested for grabbing a security guard’s breast in an airport. She grabbed the guard’s breast because she claimed the guard touched her breast while frisking her.
Number Fourteen: She Had a Line of Pantyhose. In 1983, Ross introduced her very own line of pantyhose. The line was called “Diana Ross Ultra Sheers.” Perhaps unsurprisingly, you would be hard-pressed to find a pair still around today.
Number Thirteen: Her Last Concert With The Supremes Was in Las Vegas. Ross’ last performance with the group occurred on November 8, 1969, at the Frontier Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. She left The Supremes so she could pursue her career as a solo artist.
Number Twelve: She Has Five Siblings. Ross was born the second of a total of six children. Her parents are Fred Ross Sr. and Ernestine Moten, and she was born in Detroit, Michigan. She grew up in the Brewster Housing Projects in Detroit.
Number Eleven: She Has Five Kids. Ross has five children, and they are named Rhonda Ross Kendrick, Tracee Ellis Ross, Ross Naess, Chudney Ross, and Evan Ross.
Number Ten: She Misspelled One of Her Daughter’s Names. Ross originally wanted to name her daughter “Chutney,” but she misspelled it as “Chudney” on the birth certificate. Because of this, her daughter’s name became Chudney, rather than Chutney.
Number Nine: She Is the Most Successful Female Recording Artist. Ross has an impressive 18 number one hits in the United States.
