Drake: 15 Things You Didn’t Know (Part 1)

Drake has become something of a cultural phenomenon. Though he is wildly famous and one of the most successful musicians of his time, there are still some little-known facts about him that have slipped through the cracks. Number Fifteen: He Was Raised Jewish. Drake’s mother is actually Jewish, so he was raised that way as well. However, he no longer actively practices, although his music video for “HYFR” recreates his Bar Mitzvah.

Number Fourteen: Music Runs in His Blood. We all know that Drake is clearly talented, but did you know that his father plays music as well? His father is Dennis Graham, who was a successful drummer. He performed and recorded with famous musicians like Jerry Lee Lewis.

Number Thirteen: Really, Music Runs in His Blood. That’s not all! Drake’s uncle was actually a bassist for the legendary Prince. His uncle’s name is Larry Graham, and he also played bass for Sly And The Family Stone.

Number Twelve: He Rose to Fame as a Teenager. Remember that show, Degrassi: The Next Generation? Well, Drake played the character of Jimmy Brooks from 2001 to 2009. Brooks was a teenage athlete who was eventually confined to a wheelchair after an unfortunate school shooting.

Number Eleven: He Really Loves Swimming Pools. In fact, you might even say that Drake has an obsession with swimming pools. His first home he ever bought in L.A. was chosen based almost entirely on the pool. His house in Canada also has an indoor pool of Olympic proportions.

Number Ten: He Has More Than One Aaliyah Tattoo. Drake has two tattoos related to Aaliyah. He has an image of her face on his back, and he also has her birthday tattooed on his ribcage.

Number Nine: He Has Worked as a Voice Actor. Have you seen Ice Age 4: Continental Drift? Well, if you haven’t, you might want to give it a second chance. Drake is the voice of Ethan, a teenage mammoth, in the kids movie.
