Ed Sheeran‘s “Thinking Out Loud” made history by spending an entire year on the UK Adult Top 40 chart. The hit single is currently Number 28 on the UK singles chart, totaling 52 weeks on the charts. “Congrats @EdSheeran ‘Thinking Out Loud’ is the first single ever to spend a full year in the Official Chart Top 40,” BPI Music tweeted. “Thinking Out Loud” also went to Number 1 in the US, UK, Scotland, Portugal, Australia, New Zealand, Netherlands, Europe, and Canada.
The song was the third single released from Sheeran’s X album, which was dropped in June of last year. The other songs released on the project include “Sing,” “Don’t,” “Bloodstream,” and “Photograph.” The X album topped the Billboard 200, UK Albums, and Canadian Albums chart. It has sold over two million copies in the US, and over five million worldwide. The project won the British Album of the Year honor at this year’s Brit Award show.
Sheeran is currently on his worldwide X Tour, which was launched in the summer of 2014. Today, the singer will perform in San Diego (CA) at the Valley View Casino Center. His remaining dates during the months of June and July includes stops in Los Angeles (CA) on June 24th and 25th; Berkeley (CA) on June 26th; Morrison (CO) on June 29th and 30th; Noblesville (IN) on July 2nd; Milwaukee (WI) on July 3rd; London (United Kingdom) on July 10th, 11th, and 12th; and Dublin (Ireland) on July 24th and 25th.
Sheeran’s remaining dates of his X Tour includes shows in Houston (TX) on September 3rd; Frisco (TX) on September 5th; Orlando (FL) on September 8th; Miami (FL) on September 9th; Tampa (FL) on September 10th; Atlanta (GA) on September 12th; Nashville (TN) on September 13th; St. Paul (MN) on September 15th; Tinley Park (IL) onSeptember 16th; Cincinnati (OH) on September 17th; Cuyahoga Falls (OH) on September 18th; Toronto (Canada) on September 25th; Washington (DC) on September 22nd and 23rd; Foxborough (MA) on September 25th; Brisbane (Australia) on November 28th; Perth (Australia) on December 2nd; Melbourne (Australia) on December 5th; Sydney (Australia) on December 9th; and Auckland (Australia) on December 12th.
