Singer and songwriter Elle King has not been on the scene for very long, but she has definitely established herself as someone to watch. The singer, who is also an actress, has spent a considerable amount of time in the spotlight. However, there are still some things that most people do not know about her. Number Fifteen: She Is an Incredibly Flexible Performer. King is very difficult to fit into a single genre, and understandably so. She runs the gamut between jazz and country. For example, “Under the Influence,” is reminiscent of Amy Winehouse, but “America’s Sweetheart,” is much more country.
Number Fourteen: Her First EP Has a Fun Acoustic Rendition. On her debut EP, The Elle King EP, she performs an acoustic version of Khia’s iconic “My Neck, My Back.” This shows that King has a sense of long-standing culture, not to mention a sense of humor.
Number Thirteen: She Plays the Banjo. In case you’ve never listened to her music, King can really play the banjo. In fact, her banjo was custom-made for her by the same company endorsed by The Dixie Chicks.
Number Twelve: She Has Major Girl Power. King is just the second female in 20 years who has achieved the number one position on the Billboard alternative chart.
Number Eleven: She Has Famous Family. King’s dad is the actor and comedian Rob Schneider. King performed with him in his 1999 film, Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo.
Number Ten: She Has a Great Sense of Humor. For Halloween, King decided to be a Juggalo – one of the fans of Insane Clown Posse who color their faces and dress in a very specific way. She even used the Dubsmash app to sing along to “Look At Me Now” by Busta Rhymes while she was in costume.
Number Nine: She Loves Tattoos. King has tattoos adorning her arms, and she views her body as a canvas. She even has the words “AC/DC” on her arms! She truly is meant to be in the music industry.
