Number Eight: On Politics
In July of 2015, Stephen Colbert interviewed the rapper on a public access show in Michigan titled Only in Monroe. Colbert interviewed him in his classic satirical style, and Em played along gloriously (albeit while a little confused). Colbert asked him if he was political, following up with “A lot of rap is political and some of it is good booty rhymes. Are you more political or just booty rhymes?” The rapper responded, “In the middle. Right in the crack, probably.”
Number Seven: Eminem on His Homophobic Lyrics
In 2010, Em was interviewed by The New York Times. When confronted with accusations that he writes homophobic and gay-bashing lyrics, he responded, “I think if two people love each other, then what the hell? I think that everyone should have the chance to be equally miserable, if they want.”
Number Six: On the Topic of Bill O’Reilly
In 2009, the rapper sat down with the Detroit Metro Times to talk about his music and the deteriorating scene in Detroit. In the interview, he was asked about his thoughts on Bill O’Reilly’s incendiary comments about him. He responded by saying, “Um…well, that guy’s a turd.”
Number Five: On Columbine
The rapper did an interview with Spin magazine in 2000. In the interview, he revealed that he sympathized with the Columbine shooters when he said, “That Columbine sh*t is so touchy. As much sympathy as we give the shootings, nobody ever looked at it from the point of view of the kids who were bullied. I’ve been that mad.”

The rapper sat down with GQ in 2011 for an interview. When discussing the process he went through while recording Recovery, Em revealed his more sensitive side.
