Eminem Will Be Featured On LL Cool J’s New Album

LL Cool J has announced in an interview that Eminem will be featured on his G.O.A.T. 2 album. Although the Hollis Queens rapper did not reveal the name of the song, he has already heard Eminem’s verse. LL Cool J said he believes the people will be pleasantly surprised when they hear their collaboration. LL mentioned not having Eminem on his G.O.A.T. 2 album would be a travesty for hip-hop.

This is the first time LL Cool J and Eminem will collaborate on a song together, but it is well-known how much Eminem respects LL Cool J. In 2009, at VH1’s Hip Hop Honors, Eminem paid tribute to LL Cool J and performed “Rock The Bells.” The song was released in 1985, and peaked at Number 17 on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. Music fans and critics praised Eminem’s performance, and recalled how much Eminem sounded exactly like the legend who inspired him.

LL Cool J has released 13 studio albums and two greatest hits compilations. G.O.A.T. 2 is the sequel to his 2000 album, G.O.A.T. The G.O.A.T. album peaked at Number 1 on the Billboard 200. It was LL Cool J’s first album to reach the Number 1 position. To date, no other LL Cool J album has reached Number 1. The concept behind the G.O.A.T. 2 album is to give upcoming artists an opportunity to shine. LL Cool J said he is looking forward to working alongside some of the hardest rhymers in the game.

The rapper’s main objective is to embrace where he is from, embrace his community, and give these artists a platform. He also reiterated that the G.O.A.T. 2 album is more culturally clear and defined; 85 percent of the album is for people who like hard hip-hop. The album will also feature J. Cole, Raekwon, T.I., Fred the Godson, and many other hip-hop recording artists. Any other possible artist features for G.O.A.T 2 have yet to be announced.
