Fergie: 15 Things You Didn’t Know (Part 2)

We already brought you part one of our list of 15 things you probably did not know about Fergie, and now we’re back with part two! Check out eight more fascinating facts about the singer and Black Eyed Peas member that you definitely (probably) did not know below. You might be surprised by what you find out!

Number Eight: She Is a Part-Owner of a Football Team. In 2009, Fergie became a part-owner of the NFL’s Miami Dolphins.

Number Seven: She Filed a Claim to Change Her Name. It’s no secret that Fergie is married to heartthrob actor Josh Duhamel, but did you know she filed a claim to change her name to Fergie Duhamel? She wanted to truly embody the name that most of her fans know her as, and she also wanted to take her husband’s last name.

Number Six: She Attends Church With Her Husband. We mentioned in part one of this list that Fergie was raised as a Roman Catholic by Roman Catholic parents, but she still goes to church! She and her husband, Josh Duhamel, attend church regularly. They also got married in a Catholic church.

Number Five: She Is Bisexual. But it wasn’t official until 2009. Fergie had alluded to same-sex experiences before then, but it was only in May of 2009 that she officially came out as bisexual.

Number Four: She Was Addicted to Crystal Meth. While part of the girl group Wild Orchid, Fergie developed an addiction to crystal meth. Though she left the group in 2001, the addiction stayed with her. On her addiction, she said, “It was the hardest boyfriend I ever had to break up with. It’s the drug that’s addicting. But it’s why you start doing it in the first place that’s interesting. A lot of it was being a child actor; I learned to suppress feelings.”

Number Three: She Uses Hypnotherapy. In fact, Fergie used hypnotherapy to overcome her addiction to crystal meth (mentioned above).

Number Two: She Is Set to Release Another Album in 2016. Fergie released the lead single from her forthcoming second album in 2014, and while there may be a sizable gap between the release of the single and the release of the album, she plans to release it this year.

Number One: She Has Eight Grammy Awards. Between the years of 2005 and 2012, Fergie racked up a whopping eight Grammys. Now that’s impressive!
