Ferrari began in 1928 in Northern Italy, and was originally intended to only sell racing cars. That obviously changed over time, and the word “Ferrari” is instantly associated with money and glamour. It’s apparent that these cars are not cheap, but which models are the absolute most outrageously expensive? Let’s take a look.
Number Eight: The P4/5 2006, $4 Million
This car was inspired by the more vintage models that were popular back in the 1960s. This beauty can accelerate up to 60 miles per hour in just 3 seconds and has a top speed of an astounding 217 mph.
Number Seven: The Ferrari 330 P3 1966, $5.6 Million
The first model to use fiberglass rather than aluminum doors, this car is a unique model. The driver’s seat is positioned nearly in the center of the car instead of off to the side as is common.
Number Six: The 412S 1958, $5.6 Million
This model was developed specifically for racing, but had a rocky start when it first came out. At the initial showing of the car, it had technical difficulties on the track and had to go straight back to the factory to get worked on.
Number Five: The 340/375 MM Berlinetta Competizione 1953, $5.7 Million
This car is an endangered species, and only three were ever made. The car won a number of races back in its prime, and looks pretty sharp as well.
Number Four: The 625 TRC Spider 1957, $6.5 Million
This car only weighs 1,500 pounds, but it sure packs a punch. It has a V12 engine and 320 horse power, just to give you an idea of its power.
Number Three: The Ferrari GT SWB 250 1959, $7 Million
This car is a prized possession among collectors. The classic model was the result of years of development. It comes with a three liter V12 engine.
Number Two: The 250 GT SWB California Spyder 1961, $12 Million
You may remember this specific model from the movie Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. Thankfully, they used a fake version of the car and not a real one, which costs twice as much as the film’s entire budget!
Number One: The 250 Testa Rossa 1957, $16 Million
The name of this car means “redhead” in Italian. It’s one of the most famous and wished-for cars in existence. Thanks for reading our article, we hope you enjoyed it.
