Five Guys is one of the most popular fast-casual burger chains in the country. However, if you don’t have a location near you, getting your fix can be a bit tricky. Here, we bring you six copycat recipes for the chain’s most popular menu items. Bring your Five Guys feast home without ever stepping foot in a restaurant – find out how below!
Number One: Five Guys Burger Recipe
An American classic, Five Guys’ burgers are mouthwateringly delicious, and this recipe really delivers. To make the classic burger, you’ll need ground beef, a sesame seed bun, sliced cheddar cheese, vegetable oil, an onion, a tomato, dill pickles, iceberg lettuce, ketchup, mayonnaise, and yellow mustard. Yum!
Number Two: Copycat French Fries
To make the chain’s fries, you’ll need russet potatoes, sea salt, and peanut oil. The key isn’t in the ingredients, though; it’s in the method. Fry them twice to make sure they get extra crispy without getting dried out!
Number Three: Copycat Cajun Fries
To make the chain’s specially seasoned cajun fries, make the fries as described above, but toss them with the cajun seasoning (recipe follows) right after you fry them. You’ll need salt, chili powder, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, bay leaves, ground pepper, and cayenne pepper for the seasoning.
Number Four: Copycat Grilled Cheese
You might think a grilled cheese is simple, but then you definitely haven’t had Five Guys’ grilled cheese. To make their unique spin on grilled cheese, you’ll need American cheese, a bun, and butter. The key is to griddle the inside-out bun so it gets extra toasty, and make sure all of the cheese is completely melted before serving it.
Number Five: Copycat Patty Melt
This comes from Five Guys’ “secret menu.” However, it’s important to note that the chain doesn’t really have a “secret” menu because they’ll make just about anything you ask for. To make a proper FG patty melt, make the burger as described above. Instead of keeping the bun the normal way, turn it inside out and griddle it (like with the grilled cheese). Add lots of American cheese and grilled, caramelized onions to the melt, and you’re set to go!
Number Six: Copycat Cheese Fries
Another item from the chain’s not-so-secret menu, these cheese fries do not disappoint. To make them, make the regular fries as described above. To make the cheese sauce that goes on top, you’ll need sharp cheddar cheese, cornstarch, evaporated milk, and Frank’s Red Hot pepper sauce. Drizzle the cheese sauce over the fries right before you eat them. Bon appetit!
