Just one week after leaving One Direction, new music from Zayn Malik has been posted online. Malik has been working with producer Naughty Boy, and a demo version of the song “I Won’t Mind” was posted on Soundcloud (the song has been removed) by the UK producer. The ballad received tons of plays on Soundcloud before it was removed, but it has since been added on YouTube.
Some reports claim Malik removed the song after his former bandmate, Louis Tomlinson, got into a Twitter feud with Naughty Boy. Tomlinson felt putting the song online was inconsiderate, given its only been seven days since Malik left the group. One Direction has decided to continue on as a quartet, and they are currently on tour for their On The Road Again Tour. The 80-date tour will conclude on October 31st of this year. The worldwide dates includes shows in North and South America, Europe, South Africa, Australia, the Middle East, and Asia.
One Direction have dropped four studio albums including Up All Night, Take Me Home, Midnight Memories, and Four. Their debut album, Up All Night, was released four years ago. The album went to Number 1 on the Billboard 200, and it also reached the top of the charts in Taiwan, Sweden, New Zealand, Mexico, Italy, Ireland, Croatia, Canada, and Australia. Up All Night sold over four million copies, and it featured four hit singles including “What Makes You Beautiful,” “Gotta Be You,” “One Thing,” and “More Than This.” The lead single, “What Makes You Beautiful,” peaked at Number 1 on the US Hot Dance Club Songs chart, the UK Singles chart, and the singles chart in Ireland, Mexico, and Scotland.
One Direction’s latest project Four came out last year. Two singles have been dropped from the project, which include “Steal My Girl” and “Night Changes.” A third single entitled “Where Do Broken Hearts Go” was dropped as a promotional record. The song was penned by One Direction member Harry Styles, who has written a great number of the group’s music. Four has sold over one million copies, giving One Direction their fourth platinum-certified project. The group’s number one reign continued with this project as well, and it peaked at Number 1 in the US, UK, Sweden, Canada, Australia, and more.
