Future: 15 Things You Didn’t Know (Part 2)

We already brought you part one of our list of 15 things you probably didn’t know about Future, and now we’re back with part two! Check out eight more fascinating facts about one of the industry’s most rising stars in rap that you definitely (probably) did not know below. You might be surprised by what you find out!

Number Eight: He Was Involved in the Industry Way Before He Was Famous. Before he became known for his own work, Future was making money for contributions to songs like 2004’s “Blueberry Yum Yum” by Ludacris.

Number Seven: He Is Conscious of His Fashion. In 2014, Future told GQ that his favorite clothing items are the basics. He likes long trench coats, nice scarves, and nice fitted jeans “…to go with the trench coats.”

Number Six: He Was Shot in the Hand. As a teenager, Future was running the streets and subsequently got shot in the hand. He said, “But I was a beast after that, living by the day…I was like an animal, ain’t had no love for nobody.”

Number Five: He Helped Drake Come Up With an Important Phrase. Future has said that one night, he was working in the studio with Drake, and he kept telling the engineer to “start it from the bottom.” That is reportedly where Drake got his iconic phrase, “Started From the Bottom.”

Number Four: He Likes Jennifer Lopez. And really, who can blame him? Future told Sway’s Universe in 2014 that if he and Ciara were to have a threesome with anybody, it would be Jennifer Lopez.

Number Three: He Raps About Ex-Girlfriends. And all in one song, too! Every verse in Future’s 2001 song, “Long Time Coming,” is dedicated to one of his ex-girlfriends who encouraged him to continue with his career.

Number Two: He Sat on Honest for at Least Two Years Before it Dropped. Future alleges that he had completed his sophomore album, Honest, at least two years before he actually dropped it. He told Billboard, “I have small elements of the music. It’s like a building, the structure of the music, so I might have the shell, a beat, a hook, a melody that I just put on the beat…it’s just about putting it together. Like a puzzle.”

Number One: He Considers Himself to Be a Master of Music. According to Future, the only other people who can do what he does are Andre 3000 and CeeLo.
