Refereed to as the ‘quiet one’, George Harrison was always seen to be a bit of a dark horse. So much so he even went on to name his own record label of the same name. However George was anything but. Probably the most spiritual of the bunch it was George who heavily influenced The Beatles into following their spiritual quest during the mid 60’s. With an interest in Eastern music and Eastern religion, Harrison went on to write some deeply profound music and serve the rest of the world with some beautiful and inspiring quotes. Rest in Peace George.
Number Six: On The Unknown
“If you don’t know where you’re going, any road will take you there.” George let’s us know that sometimes it can be nice to have no plans and complete uncertainty in your adventures.
Number Five: On Living In The Now
“All there is, ever, is the now. We can gain experience from the past, but we can’t relive it; and we can hope for the future, but we don’t know if there is one.” One should never have regrets or even wishes claims George.
Number Four: On Living Your Life
“Why live in the darkness all your life? Why, if you are unhappy, if you are having a miserable time, why not just look at it? Why are you in the darkness? Look for the light. The light is within.” Instead of just running away why not stare it right in the face. Acknowledge it and defeat it.
Number Three: On Religion
Converting to Hinduism in the late 60s. Harrison commented on his decision by beautifully stating. “All religions are branches of one big tree.”
Number Two: On Change
“Try to realize it’s all within yourself, no one else can make you change.” Change can be a difficult thing whether you want to or not.
Number One: George Harrison On Growing Older
“Experience is the main reason why we’re here, I think, in the world – to gain experience. And from our experience we gain knowledge… and if we get any knowledge, then we gain liberation.” George reflects on growing old, learning and experiencing new things.
