Although Cara Delevingne has long since been the face of the company, after retiring from modeling at the ripe old age of twenty-two to become the actress she always dreamed of being, Topshop needed a fresh face. While there are many supermodels out in the world, there’s nobody quite like Gigi Hadid. The twenty-year-old it-girl is signed to IMG models, has walked for Marc Jacobs, Jean Paul Gaultier and Chanel, and has been featured in high-profile publications like Vogue, Sports Illustrated, and Paper magazine. She’s beautiful, she’s sexy, and she’s only getting started.

Although Topshop has been around since the 1960s, when it started as a brand extension of the British deparment store Peter Robinson, it has since expanded its vision beyond the UK and into foreign markets. Topshop first entered the US market in 2009 when it established its first standalone store and has attracted celebrity fans ranging from Beyonce to Kendall and Kylie Jenner.
“Working with Gigi Hadid on this campaign continues to strengthen our international vision for the Topshop brand,” said Sir Phillip Green, Chairman of Topshop’s parent company via press release. “We are continually developing our footprint across all markets with ambitious plans bother in the UK and internationally and I feel like Gigi is an ideal ambassador to underpin these efforts.”
If this photo shoot is any indication of Hadid’s future with the company, then there’s no way that we’ll be seeing a new A-lister take her place at the end of autumn when it’s time for the Topshop to roll a new ad campaign out. Whether she’s boxing in her underwear, pouting in fur while lounging on leather, or closing her eyes and letting the cold, British air sooth her effervescent Californian soul, Gigi Hadid really is the perfect choice to embody the effortlessly chic vibe for which the brand has made its name by.
