We already brought you part one of our list of 15 things you didn’t know about Harrison Ford, and now we’re back with part two! Check out eight more fascinating tidbits about this iconic Star Wars actor’s life that you definitely (probably) did not know. You might be surprised by what you find out!
Number Eight: He Took Selfies Before They Were Cool. Before selfies were even a thing, Ford was using a polaroid to take ridiculous selfies with his coworkers.
Number Seven: He Worked With The Doors. Ford was a stagehand for The Doors. He got the job because he was working as a carpenter to support his family, and the skills coincided with those necessary to be a stagehand.
Number Six: He Has Acted With JJ Abrams. Despite the fact that he’s a Star Wars guy, he has worked with the man involved with the latest recreation of Star Trek. In 1991, Abrams was a screenwriter, and he acted in a film that he wrote, called Regarding Henry. Ford starred in the film.
Number Five: He Helped His Son out. Ford starred in a movie called Water to Wine in 2004, which was a project of his son. The film was allegedly half-documentary and half-comedy, and Ford played a bus driver.
Number Four: He Doesn’t Care Who Shot First. In the 1997 Star Wars movie, Han Solo is seen shooting Greedo first; however, in the 1997 special edition, Greedo is seen shooting Han Solo first. In a Reddit AMA that Ford did in 2013, he said that he neither knew nor cared about who actually shot first.
Number Three: He Almost Wasn’t Han. Ford’s part of Han Solo was almost given to Billy Dee Williams, who ended up playing Lando Calrissian. Crazy, right?
Number Two: His Most Famous Star Wars Line Was Ad-Libbed. In Empire Strikes Back, Leia says “I love you,” and Han says, “I know.” The line was actually made up. It is rumored that Ford said to Lucas, “George, you can type this s**t, but you sure as hell can’t say it.”
Number One: He Beat Out Tom Selleck. Before Ford got the part of Indiana Jones, it was nearly awarded to Tom Selleck. However, because of a last minute scheduling conflict, Ford ended up getting the part.
