Number Twelve: Work Out Before Bed to Burn More Calories. You might think that working out before bed just means another shower and sleeping with wet hair, but that’s where you’d be wrong! Working out before bed actually helps your body burn more calories while you sleep.

Number Eleven: Eat Tomatoes to Prevent Sunburn. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t use sunscreen! Tomatoes provide an excellent defense against sun damage, so if you have extra sensitive skin, make sure to eat a lot of tomatoes at the sunniest time of the year.

Number Ten: Eat Watermelon to Lower Your Blood Pressure. If one of your new year’s resolutions is to eat less red meat or meditate to lower your blood pressure, try eating watermelon with your meals instead! Eating watermelon has been scientifically proven to lower blood pressure to a significant degree.

Number Nine: Use an Apple to Determine if You’re Really Hungry. If you think you might be hungry but you’re just not sure, ask yourself if you want an apple. If you want an apple, go ahead and eat it (or another equally healthy snack)! Otherwise, just admit to yourself that you’re probably bored, not hungry. Try chewing a piece of gum instead.

Number Eight: Avoid Cramps by Breathing Properly While You Run. If you’re constantly cramping up when you go on your morning jogs, try regulating your breathing. Specifically, exhale only when your left foot hits the ground – the regularity will help get rid of cramps in no time.

Number Seven: Drink Pineapple Juice to Get Rid of a Sore Throat. If you’re stuck in bed and just can’t get rid of that sore throat, try downing some pineapple juice. Pineapple juice has been shown to be up to five times more effective than some cough syrups. Stay tuned for part two of our list of 12 life hacks to improve your health, coming soon!
