Number Five: Bob Marley. RAeggae superstar Bob Marley comes in fifth on our list of the top 10 highest earning dead celebrities. Marley has earned $20 million since he died of cancer in 1981 at the young age of just 36 years old. Marley has continued to earn money through the House of Marly and Marley Beverage Company.
Number Four: Elizabeth Taylor. Since her death in 2011, Taylor has earned an impressive $25 million. Taylor is recognized as a symbol for glamour, and her line of perfume is still widely popular. Taylor died of heart failure and was 79 years old when she died. She remains a symbol of old Hollywood and acted in many classic Hollywood films, including Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Giant, and Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?.
Number Three: Charles Schulz. Schulz, who is responsible for The Peanuts, died in 2000 when he was 77 years old. Since his death, Schulz has earned $40 million with the Peanuts franchise. Schulz died of colon cancer.
Number Two: Elvis Presley. Presley remains to this day one of the most famous musicians of all time. Presley died in 1977 when he was just 42 years old, and he has earned $55 million since then. Presley continues to earn money through admissions to Graceland, merchandising, licensing, and a Cirque du Soleil show in Las Vegas.
Number One: Michael Jackson. Is it really such a surprise that Michael Jackson is number one on our list of the top 10 highest earning dead celebrities? Since his death in 2009, Jackson has earned $140 million, putting him in number one by a landslide. Jackson released two albums posthumously: Michael and Xscape. Xscape debuted at number two on the charts, and Michael has been certified as Platinum. The albums were released in 2010 and 2014, respectively, and they have solidified Jackson as one of the world’s greatest musicians of all time.
