Amidst rumors that Iggy Azalea would be canceling her upcoming The Great Escape Tour, the rapper and her team announced that the show would be rescheduled to take place later in the year. Azalea’s team at Def Jam Recordings cited “tour production delays” as the main reason for rescheduling the spring show. In an exclusive press release, Def Jam Recordings further explained that in order to “accommodate for creative team availability and tour productions, it was determined that the tour will not be ready this spring.”
In the past, Azalea has promised that she is working on making it so that The Great Escape Tour is as close to perfection as possible. She also commented that the show would be more like a pop show, complete with props and other visuals instead of simply focusing on rapping alongside a DJ. The additional time will ensure that the show goes off without a hitch once it finally kicks off. Nick Jonas and Tinashe were announced to be joining Azalea on The Great Escape Tour. So far, neither of theirs teams have commented on the change of dates. It can be assumed that they will still be taking the stage with Azalea this fall.
The Great Escape Tour was originally expected to kick off on April 14th in Fresno, California and run through May 24th when it was scheduled to come to a close in Austin, Texas. Now the show will be kicking off on September 18th in San Diego, California and finishing up on October 27th in Glendale, Arizona. It is unclear at this point if Azalea and her team will be refunding tickets if fans are unable to attend the later dates.
Earlier this morning, fans were speculating that Iggy Azalea was having issues with her management after making the decision to abandon her social media accounts. The rapper claimed that her accounts were making it difficult for her to maintain a positive outlook while recording, so she handed over control to her management. Claims were being made that Azalea had abandoned promotional plans and was poorly maintaining relationships with her management after making the decision. Representatives have disproved these rumors, revealing that there is no conflict between Azalea and her team.
FDRMX Eyes: The Other People have released their latest music video entitled “So Damn Beautiful.” The video addresses the issues of self-confidence and women empowerment.
