News is still buzzing about the iPhone 6s, and already there is talk of Apple’s iPhone 7. Apple applied for several patents that give the world clues into what exactly we can expect from the next model of the iconic smartphone. Apple plans to release the iPhone 7 in 2016. Let’s dig into the details.
For just about a year, Samsung has sold models of its Android smartphone with a curved display, like the picture above. This drawing of an iPhone 7 may look strange, but its producers are confident it will be a superior smartphone. The iPhone 7 is rumored to be so large the the display will occupy the entire front of the smartphone. Dimensions are expected to be the following: a 4.7-inch-long phone, which will be the iPhone 7, followed by a 5.5-inch-long model, which will be the ensuing iPhone 7 Plus. Apple may also choose to make a 4-inch-long phone, which they might call the ‘mini.’
Another undoubted advantage of the new iPhone 7 will be the sapphire crystal glass display, which is a brand new concept different from every other iPhone model. However, Apple has in fact implemented the sapphire crystal in the Apple Watch, which was released earlier this year.
The battery life of the iPhone 7 is also expected to be an improvement from the iPhone 6s. The minimum storage space is also expected to increase from 16GB to 32GB, especially considering how much data the average consumer uses in this day and age.
Above is a recreation of what the iPhone 7 is expected to look like. Though strange in appearance, we trust that Apple knows what it’s doing. However, it will ultimately be up to the consumers to decide whether the iPhone 7 is worth it, or if the 6s will continue to reign. Also important to remember is that this is just another smartphone in a sea of technology. With things like your health, relationships, and education to worry about, the iPhone 7 may or may not be worth the hype. We will just have to wait and find out soon.
