Who doesn’t love pancakes? I know I do. And not only love but am obsessed even. So much so that I have tried hundreds of pancake recipes, among the best recipes on the web, and chose (after much contemplating) the best one.
But, prior to revealing the best pancake recipe, let me share with you the criteria that I used to make the decision.
Thanks to this The Ultimate Guide to Perfect Pancake Recipes | MyGreatRecipes I’ve made the decision.
How to Get the Best Pancake?
Ease of Preparation
I love pancaking and like to spend days flipping pancakes, but the thing is I easily get tired. So, if a recipe requires my full attention for more than 30 minutes, then it is not my cup of tea. Or, it is, but only if someone else does the pancaking and I am doing the eating J. (See, if this criterion was not on the list, then the okonomiyaki would have been my favorite.)
Fluffiness
Be it because of lemon, buttermilk, yogurt or beer, a pancake stack should be one thing to be called perfect- fluffy! I mean if I wanted a chewy, gummy bite I’d by myself some jelly babies, or if I wanted a thin one I would prepare a crêpe, right?
Health Promotion
Now this is the part that I had the most struggle with. Whether to dub a calorie-packed recipe as my favorite one, or one that is actually good for me. As you can apparently see, I opted for the latter one. A pancake should not only be scrumptious but also good-for-you in order to be called your favorite.
The Best Pancakes
The best pancakes you will ever see, or prepare for that matter are the Healthy Banana Blueberry Pancakes.
Let’s see why are these healthy.
They contain bananas! Only the most potassium-packed fruit out there (alongside avocados). Besides containing potassium, they are also rich in nutrients that moderate the sugar levels in our blood, and on top of it all, bananas are said to satiate your hunger faster than other fruits.
They contain blueberries! These berries get their color from anthocyanins, the color pigments that are not only associated with giving them their vibrant color but also making them the best antioxidants among fruits.
They are whole wheat! The fact that this recipe makes use of whole wheat instead of regular all-purpose flour, makes it way healthier than any other regular one.
Let’s see why are these tasty.
Mmm, bananas, blueberries, need I say more? Just in case you are not convinced, they contain buttermilk, yoghurt, and applesauce. And if this wasn’t clear enough, this is an equation that results in FLUFFINESS! And on top of it all, they also contain cloves, my all-time favorite spice, and can easily be topped with maple syrup!
I might be partial to this recipe because it contains all of the features I think great pancakes should have, but nonetheless, give these babies a try. Who knows, maybe tomorrow you will be the loudest proponent for them!
