Jamie Foxx‘s Hollywood: A Story Of A Dozen Roses entered the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart at the Number 1 spot. The project sold over 30,000 copies in its debut week, which also helped the album reach Number 10 on the Billboard 200. Hollywood: A Story Of A Dozen Roses is led by the hit single “You Changed Me” featuring Chris Brown, which has sold over 800,000 digital copies. Even though “You Changed Me” is the project’s second single, it has faired better on the charts than the album’s first single entitled “Ain’t My Fault.” To date, “You Changed Me” has impacted the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart at Number 46. The single “Baby’s In Love” (featuring Kid Ink) was dropped on May 4th, and Foxx also just released “In Love By Now.”
This week, “In Love By Now” entered the Hot R&B Songs chart at Number 22, and it reached the Number 15 position on the R&B Digital Songs chart too. Along with Chris Brown and Kid Ink, Foxx’s chart-topping album also features guest appearances from Wale, Pharrell Williams, and Fabolous. Earlier this year, the R&B singer released the single “Pretty Thing” on Soundcloud. The DJ Mustard-produced song does not appear on the official album, but it is available on the Hollywood: A Story Of A Dozen Roses deluxe version.
Hollywood: A Story Of A Dozen Roses is Foxx’s fifth studio album, and fourth album to reach Number 1. His other studio projects include Peep This, Unpredictable (reached Number 1), Intuition (reached Number 1), and Best Night of My Life (reached Number 1). The sophomore project, Unpredictable, featured the hit singles “Extravaganza,” “Unpredictable,” “DJ Play a Love Song,” and “Can I Take U Home.” The album went Gold in its first week, after selling over 500,000 copies. To date, the project has reached platinum certification.
The Grammy-winning singer is also an accomplished actor as well. Foxx has starred in a great number of films including Ali, Collateral, Ray, Dreamgirls, Miami Vice, Law Abiding Citizen, White House Down, Rio 2 (voice), Django Unchained, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Horrible Bosses, Horrible Bosses 2, and Annie.
