Number Eight: He Travels With His Jack Sparrow Costume. Although it might sound a little bit weird, Depp actually travels with his Pirates of the Caribbean Jack Sparrow costume to surprise children at hospitals. He likes to, “…just sneak in and go and surprise a bunch of kiddies…It basically turns into a two, three-hour improvisation and it’s really fun.”
Number Seven: He Has Some Serious Rock Star Connections. Though his childhood band didn’t exactly hit the big time, Depp still has some rock star friends. Number Six: He Was Friends With Hunter S. Thompson. You might be aware that Depp played Hunter S. Thompson’s character in the hit films Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and The Rum Diary, but did you know they were also friends in real life? Depp even paid for a significant part of Thompson’s memorial.
Number Five: He Hate Dancing. Seriously, the only dancing Depp has done is choreographed in a film. He never just randomly dances in public.
Number Four: His First Acting Role Was a Scary One. The first time you can see Depp in a film is in Wes Craven’s A Nightmare on Elm Street.
Number Three: He Is Incredibly Successful. Though Depp may never have won an Oscar, he was part of some incredibly successful films. Pirates of the Caribbean and Alice in Wonderland grossed $3 billion and $1 billion, respectively.
Number Two: He Has More Than a Dozen Tattoos. The star has reportedly said that his body is a “journal” in a way. All of his tattoos have personal significance to his life.
