Justin Bieber Tops Social 50 Chart This Week

Justin Bieber is at the top of the Social 50 chart this week, becoming the first time he has held the Number 1 spot since 2014. The Social 50 is based on artists’ social media interaction, which includes likes, retweets, mentions, and followers. Bieber’s appearance at the Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas (NV) last week was well-documented on social media. Photos featuring the singer with Skrillex and Diplo made its rounds on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram in the week ending on June 21st. According to Next Big Sound, tweets regarding Bieber caused a 132 percent increase in mentions on Twitter, he received more than 20 million likes on Instagram, and he gained over 700,000 new followers on Instagram too.

The album is expected to feature guest appearances by Skrillex and Diplo, who featured Bieber on their Jack U collaborative project. The single “Where Are U Now” featuring Bieber peaked at Number 1 on the UK Dance chart, Number 3 on the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs, and Number 15 on the Billboard Hot 100.
