Pop Princess Katy Perry has officially announced that she will become the newest face of Italian luxury brand Moschino, and she could not be more excited for the new development! Perry revealed the news on her social media accounts earlier this morning, posting a tweet revealing how excited she was about the project before sharing the first promotional photo. In the photo Perry can be seen rocking a choppy dark haircut (that has drawn some unwarranted comparisons to Kris Jenner‘s look) while modeling a metallic gold bustier, denim jacket, and a plethora of chains. It is currently unclear when additional promotional photos will be released as well as how extensive Perry’s partnership will be with the prolific fashion house. Regardless, this is shaping up to be an exciting new venture for Katy Perry!
This week is truly shaping up to be an exciting one for the Prism hit maker, as the musician celebrated a milestone accomplishment with the video for her 2013 smash hit “Dark Horse.” The single flew to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 in 2013, and it was the second most popular single on the 2013 year end charts. Since then, it seems that the video and single have only continued gaining streams.
As of June 9 the Matthew Cullen directed visual in support of the single has surpassed one billion views. Currently the video is the second most watched video in the history of Vevo, with Justin Bieber‘s smash “Baby” claiming the most watched honor. Katy Perry hopped on social media to thank her fans for the huge accomplishment, tweeting an emoji laden text and promising to return to the “trap house,” undoubtably to create her next big hit.
On the topic of new music, Katy Perry has also recently registered a new song titled “1984” on music-liscening site BMI, signifying that we are one step closer to new music from the “Fireworks” songstress. The song was originally perceived as a response track to fellow pop princess Taylor Swift’s alleged kiss-off single “Bad Blood;” however, Perry’s team are currently denying any relationship between the track and Perry. While the concept of Katy Perry responding to Taylor Swift’s perceived diss track is intriguing in so many ways, it seems that such a track is not currently in existence.
