Kelly Clarkson: 15 Things You Didn’t Know (Part 1)

Kelly Clarkson rose to fame when she won the very first season of the hit show American Idol. She went on to prove that she belonged in the industry and has since had a very successful career. Though much of Clarkson’s life has been scrutinized under the public magnifying glass, there are still some things that many people don’t know about her. With that in mind, here we present our list of 15 things you probably didn’t know about Kelly Clarkson. Number Fifteen: Her Debut Single Was the Best-Selling Single of 2002. After winning American Idol, Kelly Clarkson skyrocketed to fame, and her debut single, “A Moment Like This,” actually made it to the top of the charts and was the best-selling single of 2002.

Number Fourteen: She Holds a Special Grammy Record. Clarkson is the only performer or group to win the Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album twice. She earned her two Grammys in this category for Breakaway and Stronger.

Number Thirteen: She Holds an Interesting Christmas Record. Clarkson released a Christmas album in 2013, titled Wrapped in Red. The album was the best-selling holiday album that year, and that cemented her the very first American female artist to accomplish this impressive feat.

Number Twelve: She Has a Passion for Animation. Clarkson revealed in an interview that, ever since she was little, she wanted to work in animated films and television. She said that she wanted to be the voice of an animated character.

Number Eleven: She Has an Eclectic Taste in Film. Clarkson is a fan of many different genres of film, and she says that her favorite movies are An Affair to Remember, Out of Africa, Gladiator, and Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby.

Number Ten: Her Favorite Bakery Is in Texas. Clarkson’s favorite bakery of all time is called Busy B’s Bakery, and it’s located in Burleson, Texas. She orders the same thing every time she goes there, too: Bavarian cremes and sausage rolls.

Number Nine: She Had a Tough Pregnancy. When Clarkson was pregnant with her child, River Rose, she was often miserable and very sick. She apparently called her assistant once and complained, “I’ll never be Meryl Streep!”
