Kylie Minogue and Giorgio Moroder Tour Australia

Australian pop star Kylie Minogue announced that legendary producer Giorgio Moroder will be joining her on the upcoming Australian leg of her Kiss Me Once Tour. Kylie embarked upon the Kiss Me Once Tour with a European leg last September. The tour is Minogue’s fourteenth and is in support of her 2014 release, Kiss Me Once. In a press release from Frontier Touring, Kylie’s promoters, it was revealed that Moroder would DJ “select cuts from an impressive discography.”  Also joining Minogue and Moroder on tour will be Betty Who, another Australian born musician who released her debut LP, Take Me When You Go in 2014.

Kylie Minogue revealed that “bringing my show back home is always an amazing feeling, so I can’t wait. Get your dancing shoes on!” The shows will begin in Perth at the Perth Arena on March 14th before wrapping up in Brisbane at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on March 21st. In June, Kylie will finish up the tour with a series of shows in Europe. Tickets can be purchased on Kylie Minogue’s official website.

The news comes in the wake of the duo’s high profile collaboration on “Right Here, Right Now,” a shimmering disco-inspired number released on January 20, 2015. The track, which has been supported by a music video, is alleged to be the lead single of Giorgio Moroder’s upcoming album 74 Is The New 24. The album is the first for the producer since his 1985 Innovisions. The Italian producer rose to fame for his work with Donna Summers in the 1970s, and he returned to the scene in 2013 for a partnership with Daft Punk on their Random Access Memories.

Although there is no official release date for 74 Is The New 24, the album has garnered quite a bit of attention due to a collection of highly anticipated collaborations. Along with Minogue on “Right Here, Right Now” Moroder has revealed that he will be teaming up with powerhouses Britney Spears and Sia as well as rising talents like Charli XCX. Giorgio Moroder has also revealed plans to record in the studio with Lady Gaga, although it is unconfirmed if the collaboration will make it onto his new album, or if it will be saved for Gaga’s own forthcoming return to the pop scene.  We’ll have to wait and see.
