Lana Del Rey Teams up with ‘The Age of Adaline’

Melancholic pop siren Lana Del Rey has teamed up with The Age of Adaline to provide the film with an original song for its soundtrack. The song, titled “Life Is Beautiful,” was teased in a trailer for the film. On the track, Lana Del Rey sings over a down-tempo production featuring glimmering piano and haunting strings.

Del Rey shared the film’s latest trailer, which features the sample of “Life Is Beautiful” across her social media platforms stating “it’s an honor to be a part of this magical movie: ‘The Age of Adaline’.” There is speculation that the songstress recently shot a music video for the track, though it is also possible that Del Rey shot a visual for her own upcoming album Honeymoon.

The Age of Adaline stars Blake Lively as Adaline Bowman, a woman who is unable to age after being struck by lighting.  She will be appearing alongside Harrison Ford who plays the role of William Jones as well as Michiel Huisman, Kathy Baker, Amanda Crew, and Ellen Burstyn. The film is preparing for an April 24 premier. Thus far, fans and critics have greeted the film with mixed to positive reviews after screening at early events.

The “Unltraviolence” siren is no stranger to making soundtrack appearances. Her first foray into the genre was with The Great Gatsby’s “Young and Beautiful.” The single was nominated for a collection of awards including a Grammy Award in the Best Song Written for Visual Media category. She went on to contribute a reworked version of “Once Upon a Dream” to Disney’s Malificent and shared two songs with Tim Burton’s Big Eyes, including the title track and “I Can Fly.” Del Rey earned the film both a Critic’s Choice Awards and Golden Globe Awards nomination in the best song category for “Big Eyes.”

Lana Del Rey is currently in the studio hard at work on Honeymoon. She has described the album as being heavily inspired by a “noirish feel” and claims that it will be more dramatic in terms of production than 2014’s Ultraviolence. Earlier in the month, Mark Ronson stated that he and Del Rey would be meeting up to work on several demos that may make their way onto the album. Currently there is no official release date set for Honeymoon.

FDRMX Eyes: The Psychedelic trio behind the name Clockwork Orchestra are currently based in Dublin. Their songs are described as bizarre and chaotic, as well as mesmerizing and blissful. Check out their video “The Generator Girls.”
