We already brought you part one of our list of 15 things you didn’t know about LeBron James, and now we’re back with part two! Check out seven more fascinating details about James that you definitely (probably) did not know below. You might be surprised by what you find out!
Number Seven: He Won His First NBA Championship at 28 Years Old. Which is the same exact age that Michael Jordan won his first championship. LeBron doesn’t always get compared favorably with MJ, but he could be on track to have a similar legacy when all is said and done.
Number Six: LeBron Is One of Two Players to Win MVP, NBA Finals MVP, and an Olympic Gold Medal in the Same Year. The only other player with this accomplishment is Michael Jordan. The comparisons continue…
Number Five: LeBron Has Part Ownership of Liverpool FC. LeBron James is one of the owners of Liverpool FC, a historic English Premier League soccer team. He’s not alone in his love of soccer – former NBA MVP Steve Nash is part owner of the Vancouver Whitecaps, and Knicks star Carmelo Anthony has invested in Puerto Rico FC.
Number Four: He Eats German Chocolate Cake for Every Birthday. Apparently LeBron really likes his sweets. This birthday tradition started when he was a kid and living with his former coach when his mom was not around to raise him.
Number Three: He Has Worn Jerseys with the Numbers 23 and 32 in Honor of His Basketball Idols. It is well-known that LeBron James wears 23 out of respect for his basketball hero, Michael Jordan. But it is not as well-known that he also used to wear number 32 because it is Julius Erving’s old number.
Number Two: LeBron is Arguably the Most Versatile Playoff Player in NBA History. In 2014, LeBron became the player with the most playoff games in which he scored 25 points along with 5 assists and 5 rebounds in the same game. This broke Michael Jordan’s record, and even though MJ might always have more championships, LeBron has proven that he’s one of the most versatile NBA players ever.
Number One: His 18th Birthday Gift Was a Hummer. And even though he and his mother were living in public housing at the time, she was able to afford the expensive SUV for him by using his future earning power as leverage to get a loan. It might have been a risky move at the time, but obviously it’s been more than paid off by now. We hope you enjoyed our list of 15 things you didn’t know about LeBron James!
