Number Eight: He Has a Word Named After Him. The word “inmessionate” was added to the Spanish dictionary, and it means “Adjective which makes a reference to Lionel Messi, in his own way completed to play soccer, in his unlimited capacity to surpass itself,” as well as, “An adjective to qualify the best soccer player of all time.”
Number Seven: He Does Not Currently Have an Agent. And he is one of the very few players not to have one. Messi has been able to work with his family to develop and cultivate his image.
Number Six: He Can Sleep a Lot. In fact, Messi can sleep more than 12 hours a day. Messi used to have to sleep due to his hormonal treatments, but even now that they are over, he loves to play video games, eat, and sleep a lot.
Number Five: He Holds an Important Record. Messi shares a record with England’s Vivian Woodward. They are the only two players ever to have scored 25 goals in a single calendar year for both their clubs and their countries during international competition.
Number Four: He Is the Only Player to Have Three Golden Boots. Messi is the only player to have won three European Golden Boots, which is incredibly impressive.
Number Three: Soccer Is in His Blood. Messi actually has two cousins who play soccer professionally as well. These are Emanual and Maxi Biancucchi, and both of them play for clubs in South America. However, neither of them has quite achieved the same success as Messi.
Number Two: He Has His Own Movie. And it’s called Messi. The film was released in 2014, and it is a biopic about Messi’s life, from his beginnings to his stardom.
Number One: He Is Barcelona’s Leading Scorer in Club History. In March of 2012, when Messi was just 24 years old, he set a record by becoming the leading scorer for Barcelona.
