Drake’s OVO Fest wrapped tonight, and the Toronto rapper wasted no time going after Meek Mill. Drake opened his set with a performance of “Back To Back,” which is his second diss record aimed at Mill. While the song played, a big screen displayed several memes of Mill, one of which showed the rapper wearing a wedding dress, while his girlfriend Nicki Minaj wore a tuxedo. It doesn’t seem like Drake has any intention of letting this beef die down, and the rapper let Mill know that he won’t tolerate any disrespect. “You did it to yourself boy. I won’t let nobody disrespect my city or what I stand for,” Drake proclaimed. The line made the Toronto audience go crazy, while they chanted “f**k Meek Mill.” Mill has yet to respond to Drake’s performance, but the Toronto legend threatened Mill with a “3 Peat” if Mill decides to drop another diss song.
The final night of the three-day festival also featured performances by Kanye West, Pharrell Williams, Future, and Travis Scott. Drake posted a photo on Instagram of him watching West’s festival performance. “Me and my brother watching my idol #YEEZUS,” the rapper captioned. The last day of the OVO Fest was definitely a night to remember. After the show, Drake posted a photo of himself, West, and actor Will Smith backstage. The photo shows Drake and West laughing with their mouths wide open with the caption,”Incredible night for the city! 6th Annual in the books. Thank you,” Drake wrote. OVO Fest began on August 1st in Canada, and it showcased special appearances by J. Cole, Big Sean, YG, Jeremih, and actor/comedian Kevin Hart.
During his set at OVO Fest, Drake’s music wasn’t the only topic of discussion. The rapper made several wardrobe changes, and social media took notice. Drake unveiled the Toronto Raptors’ new jerseys for this upcoming season, and of course he wore a number 6 jersey. Drake commonly refers to his hometown of Toronto as “The 6.” The Air Jordan 10 sneakers were also debuted at the festival by Drake; the sneakers were created by the rapper along with the iconic Jordan Brand. The Air Jordan 10s are white with a metallic gold colorway, and they bear the Jordan and OVO logos. The sneakers will go on sale September 12th for roughly $255.
