Number Eight: She Is a Restaurant Owner. Together with her husband, Estefan owns several Cuban-themed restaurants, including Bongos Cuban Cafe and Larios on the Beach. The restaurants’ locations include downtown Miami, Miami Beach, Downtown Disney in Orlando, Florida, and in Miami International Airport.

Number Seven: She Also Owns Hotels. Estefan owns two hotels with her husband, Emilio. The hotels are Costa d’Este and The Cardozo. Costa d’Este is located in Vero Beach, and The Cardozo is located in Miami Beach.

Number Six: She Holds an NFL Record. Estefan made some serious headway for the Latin community when she and her husband became the very first Hispanic people to have a minor ownership stake in an NFL team. The two of them have some stake in the Miami Dolphins.

Number Five: She Has Seven Grammy Awards. Estefan has received four Latin Grammy Awards and three regular Grammy Awards. Her first Grammy was awarded in 1994, and her most recent Grammy was awarded in 2001.

Number Four: She Has the Ellis Island Congressional Medal of Honor. In 1993, Estefan received the Ellis Island Congressional Medal of Honor. The medal is the highest awards that a naturalized U.S. citizen can receive.

Number Three: She and Her Husband’s Hollywood Stars Are Next to Each Other. How cute is that?! In 2005, Emilio was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame that was adjacent to Gloria’s.

Number Two: She Has an Honorary Degree. Estefan received her honorary doctoral degree from the University of Miami. She was awarded the degree in 1993, and the degree she received was in music.

Number One: She Has Released 13 Studio Albums. Though she has also released countless extended plays and compilations, Estefan has released 13 official studio albums, which is incredibly impressive. She released her first album, Cuts Both Ways, in 1989, and she released her most recent album, The Standards, in 2013.
