Number Eight: He Did the Ice Bucket Challenge With Jamie Dornan. When the ice bucket challenge was really popular, Redmayne gave into the hype and did it with Jamie Dornan, who stars in Fifty Shades of Grey.
Number Seven: He Likes Shower Gel More than Soap. Redmayne has said that he would rather up with shower gel than a bar of soap. However, it’s unclear just which brand of shower gel he prefers to use.
Number Six: He is Colorblind. It’s true! Redmayne is red-green colorblind, but he hasn’t let that stop him from pursuing artistic endeavors. Redmayne starred as a painter’s assistant in Broadway’s Red, and he’s even dabbled in painting in his free time.
Number Five: He Is a Perfectionist. Redmayne has said that one of his favorite parts of acting is that there are multiple opportunities to get a take perfect. This is in stark contrast to performing on stage, for which there is only one chance to get it right during live performances.
Number Four: He Lied to a Director. To get his part on Elizabeth I, Redmayne lied to director Tom Hooper when he told him he could ride a horse, In fact, he nearly killed some crew members because of his lie!
Number Three: He Had a Moment When He Knew He Was Famous. Redmayne knew he had “made it” when he fell asleep on a plane, and the man next to him asked him if he was important when he woke up because all of the stewardesses had apparently been watching him while he slept.
Number Two: He Does a Good Jennifer Garner Impression. Redmayne attended an all-boys school, so he played several female characters. One of his roles was as Viola in Twelfth Night, and he resembled Jennifer Garner quite closely for this role.
